Sponsor

The Sponsor subsection includes the Sponsor, Sponsor Award ID, Modification ID, Prime Sponsor, CFDA Number, and NSF Science Code fields.  Users with Administrator authorization may enter information in these fields.

Field	Description
Sponsor	Required.  The organization or agency providing support for this sponsored project.  Enter the Sponsor ID into the box.  You can confirm the sponsor ID you entered by clicking .  If you do not know the Sponsor ID, click  to find and select one.
Sponsor Award ID	Optional.  The identification number assigned to the award document based on the sponsor’s award code.  Enter the Sponsor Award ID into the box.
Modification ID	Optional.  The change or action number assigned to the sponsor award instrument by the sponsor.  Enter the Modification ID into the box.
Prime Sponsor	Optional.  The organization or agency that is the original source of funds for the sponsored project.  Enter the Prime Sponsor into the box.  You can confirm the prime sponsor you entered by clicking .  If you do not know the Prime Sponsor, click  to find and select one.
CFDA Number	Optional.  A unique identifier for the sponsor and the funding opportunity announcement (FOA) in the Catalog for Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). The first 2 digits identify the Federal agency.  The last 3 digits identify the specific Federal program. Enter the CFDA Number into the box.
NSF Science Code	Optional.  A numeric code defined by the National Science Foundation (NSF) indicating a field of research activity.  Click  to select the NSF Science Code.

 

  Adding a Sponsor ID and Prime Sponsor using the Sponsor Lookup on the Sponsor Subsection:

When you click  to find and select a Sponsor ID and Prime Sponsor, KC displays the Sponsor Lookup screen:

Enter appropriate information in the search fields to find the Sponsor ID or Prime Sponsor you need (or leave all the fields blank to display all Sponsors), and then click  to display a list of Sponsors.  When you click search, KC displays the Sponsor Lookup screen again, with the results of your search displayed below the buttons:

KC displays the Sponsors that match your search below a statement about the number of items retrieved (how many items matched your search) and the number of items displayed.

In the search results list, click return value next to the Sponsor Code that you need, to enter the Sponsor ID or Prime Sponsor in the Sponsor subsection in the Details & Dates section.

When you click return value, KC displays the KC Award screen again with the selected Sponsor ID or Prime Sponsor number added to the Sponsor subsection:
